This month's dinner came a lil late, and the usual dinner was lunch this time. Army's a real bummer, Ben only books out on weekends and it's the weekends I'm always packed. Thus the lunch this time round. I decided on Corduroy Café to chill.

Although the menu was pretty limited, I totally love the place! I foresee many Sunday morning pancakes and waffles here, if I can drag myself out of bed that is.

Happy 15th month hun. :)

This week has been so packed for me, I'm having too many late nights. Tonight was my darling nita, before she flies back to Melbourne.

Gilda Png's turns 21 this 05Feb2008 so we decided to throw her a little surprise party with us girls. Lucky for her, there was no wasabi-filled Collon rolls. ;)



Babe you are one hell of a friend. Poly wouldn't have been as great without you. Through all the laughter and tears, craziness and stress (and all the weird times we had at MediaCorp), you are one of my best girlfriends.

If friends were gems, you are a diamond. Happy belated 21st dear, we love you! :)

31 December 2007, let the party begin!




05 JANUARY 2008; SATURDAY

With a heavy head and barely enough sleep, I had no choice but to drag myself out of bed. It was gonna be a busy day today. I don't remember ever being to any kids party (apart from my sixth macdonalds birthday party), so maybe this was a to make up for the lost time in the past 20 years or so. Today I had 2 kids parties scheduled back-to-back, rachel; who turns four, and belvia's; the sweet little one-year-old.



Somewhere between 3pm and 4, it started to rain, and then pour. I ended up stranded at the bus stop. Just as well I hadn't cabbed or I would've been stuck in the jam. An hour later, I met Cecilia at Bugis and we shopped around, bitched a little, and before we knew it, yianna had reached to pick us up.




We didn't eat much at the chalet, partly because we were tired, partly because we were too lazy to bbq, but mostly because the pit was constantly surrounded by people. So we ended up heading to Old Airport road for supper. We over-ordered. There was some chinese rojak thing with sweet sauce, both the prawn and char siew chee cheong fun (because we couldn't decide which to get), char kuay tiao (which I pleasantly declined), 30 sticks of chicken and mutton satay and ketuputs. What a feast! Too bad we were so hungry we ate up before I remembered to snap a shot. I was still so bloated by the time I reached home I couldn't sleep. It was 3-4am when I finally got around to catching some shut eye.




07 JANUARY 2008; MONDAY

It's the monday blues again. Another 5 more days of work before it's the weekends and I was getting the i-wish-i-were-home-in-bed-sleeping fantasy again. So I was thankful when 6pm came, marking the end of the long 8.5hrs of work. Worktime's over, I met Malcolm and my little darling.



I miss weekends where I could get to spend all day with the kids at sea, wakeboarding and falling asleep in front of the tv watching cartoons. The simplicity of such events never fail to let me sleep soundly.




11 JANUARY 2008; FRIDAY

Our weekly chillout sessions really help keep me sane from all the insanity at work. What can I say when the workload just keeps getting heavier? Friday martinis of course!



If you haven't tried beer pong, you should! We had a whole lot of crazy fun, I so can't believe it's actually an official international game! Ha. After rounds of beer pong, we played Never Ever Have I Ever. I absolutely love Fridays.

More than a month since my last update, you can prolly guess as much that this entry is gonna be a hell of a long one. Ha. If you know me well enough, you'd know that once I'm away from my blog for a time as long as this, a spew of entries will come soon. It's just a matter of time. ;)

So here goes, for the month of December!


05 DECEMBER 2007; WEDNESDAY

One day she was here and the next she was gone. Without even a month's notice, Huifen quit within a day! If only we all could. We applaud you babe. ;)




Yong Khiang was hogging the mike most of the time and we chose so many songs the system didn't allow us to chose more! It was good fun.




06 DECEMBER 2007; THURSDAY

Meetup with Nita, its been too long! Back from Melbourne for her summer hols, we had not much time before she was off to Hong Kong to visit her relatives. With our packed schedules, it was a wonder we managed to squeeze in some time!




The shops were closing by the time we left, so our shopping plans would just have to wait. We were so excited planning about my possible trip to visit her and my best friend in Melbourne, we lost track of time. It was great getting to catch up again, and I can't wait for the summer sales in Melbourne!





08 DECEMBER 2007; SATURDAY

I hate goodbyes. It's like leaving for good, and we'll never see each other again until our paths cross in this walk of life. I'd much rather say 'See you soon!' than goodbye. Denial, she wraps her arms around you like a warm blanket on a rainy day.




Dinner was just too good. Jeff whipped up a mean beef stew and I can't remember the rest of the dishes cuz I was too in love with the stew. I've never tasted such yummy stew before! If I had food like this at home, I'd never eat out again.




After rounds of games and chilling out by the balcony, they brought out the fruits.





09 DECEMBER 2007; SUNDAY

Needless to say, it took me forever to drag myself out of bed at 8am after knocking out at 4 in the morning. I was so gone I could barely keep my eyes open at church. After church there was the BNP Christmas Lunch at Raffles Hotel.





11 DECEMBER 2007; TUESDAY

Remmeber how I hate saying goodbyes? I wonder how Meifen does it. I would have cried buckets if it was Ben. I'd initially planned to take half day leave but beacuse of my meeting I had to go back to the office. Thankfully, I manage to take urgent time off this morning to send Mark off.




Work was terribly busy so I got off work late, which meant Ash had to wait. But he was the perfect gentleman so no begging for forgiveness was necessary. Tonight he brought me to Trapizza for dinner, it's no wonder he loves it so much! To say the food was delectable would've been an understatement.




After dinner we headed to the beach to chill out. This guy thinks of everything, he even brought a huge cover for us to sit on! It was so huge I could lie down and still have room to kick around in circles.




It was so breezy that I fell asleep, thank goodness Ash had the brains to set an alarm or I'd prolly would've slept through the night. I totally love dinners with Ash, the food was always the best.

Barely before dinner ended he was already planning to take me to another yummy restaurant and no matter how I begged he simply would not tell me where. Annoying wasn't it? Ha. But I so love surprises. Guess I'll just have to wait in anticipation till the next dinner!





13 DECEMBER 2007; THURSDAY

I love December, the month where everyone is having hols. Everyone but me that is. But I don't mind, as long as I get to meetup with my friends who are finally back from studying overseas! Tonight was dinner with Kim. We had so much to accomplish, so much to catch up on.





14 DECEMBER 2007; FRIDAY

Time for some Christmas shopping! Soon as it was 6pm, we left on the first shuttle and headed to town. I had so much presents to get, I simply could not afford to waste any time!




We found a night market outside PS and we stopped to grab some snacks. A little turned out to be alot as I couldn't decide on what to get so we took em all! Fish nuggets, cheese tofu, 2 packs of takopatchi (is that what it's called?), taiwanese sausage and I can't remember what else we had.

Shopping always makes me hungry, so the snacks were not enough and we headed down to Paragon for Din Tai Fung cuz I was craving for xiao long baos.




So much for adhering to my rule of christmas presents only. All the shoes were lined with genuine leather so they were so comfortable and gorgeous I simply could not resist. It didn't help that my pay was credited tonight either. Ha.





15 DECEMBER 2007; SATURDAY

Another Christmas party! This time, it was a costume party. It being my Jon's first costume party, we decided to dress to the max we even had brother-sister-complimented costumes!




Twenty minutes and loads of Mac eyeliner and eye shadow later..




There was a vote for the best dressed girl and guy pirate. I had no intention of being nominated, it was so embarrassing standing on stage in that getup. In the end I won best dressed girl pirate! Too bad Jon didn't win best dressed guy pirate, it would've been so cool if we won together.





18 DECEMBER 2007; TUESDAY

After work, I met Peiyu and Jeffrey who had been shopping all day already. When Peiyu texted me this afternoon to ask me what I wanted for dinner, I was thinking 'Sushi Tei' and just as I was about to reply her, her text came in.. "Sushi Tei?" Talk about close friends finishing each others' sentences. Wee joined us for dinner. Due to work commitments, I ended up being even later than Wee.




After dinner, Peiyu wanted to take photos of the Christmas lights in town so off we went.




I'd initially planned to head home early (I was more than a little exhausted from sleeping late every night) but Ben booked out and picked me up for supper so I ended up turning in late again. Ha.




19 DECEMBER 2007; WEDNESDAY

Thank goodness for early let offs every Wednesday, Ben picked me and we headed to his place so he could change before heading to mine. We made it just in time for OCS Social Night.




20 DECEMBER 2007; THURSDAY

After seeing all the posters of Kallang Leisure Park showing how "exciting" it was, we decided to check it out.



The place was nothing like its adverts, with barely any reknowned labels and not much to see. It was pretty much a disappointment and such a let-down especially after I had to call Venne to find our way here. Fortunately, we found a newly-opened Japanese restaurant and decided to check it out.



I love bookouts. :)




21 DECEMBER 2007; FRIDAY

Christmas is a time for giving. Thus the need to shop shop shop for christmas gifts. I was getting lazy after not being able to find the perfect gifts for some. Prolly cuz I started to late on my Christmas gift life. Next year I should beat the crowds and sold-outs and start shopping for gifts in October.



Thankfully, I managed to load up on more Christmas presents and so settled my list of what-to-buys, giving me more time to chill out with friends.




22 DECEMBER 2007; SATURDAY

Working in the day just didn't give me the sufficient sleep I so needed to fuel myself for my night activities. We had another Christmas party tonight. This December was full of cool Christmas parties. Last week was a costume party, and tonight was on board an open-top bus!



After partying on board a bus, we headed off to another party! This time at MOS.



I gotup in time for church the next day, but I was prolly half asleep throughout service. I gotta start having early nights more often.




24 DECEMBER 2007; MONDAY

Christmas Eve came upon us all too soon, even though I've been celebrating Christmas since November.




25 DECEMBER 2007; TUESDAY

Merry Christmas! It was off to Aunt Joona's for Christmas lunch.



After lunch we headed to Marina Square to catch I Am Legend, not too bad. Boy can Will Smith star in a one man show. The movie was pretty cool up to the middle where it escalated but ended abruptly.




28 DECEMBER 2007; MONDAY


This has been a very lengthy entry. I've been out so often I haven't had as much time as I'd like to upload my photos and blog. Or stay home and read a book for a change. I'm still overdue on my New Year's Eve photos. Ha.

21 NOVEMBER 2007; WEDNESDAY

With few wednesdays left till the end of the year meant that our early let off at 4.30pm was gonna be gone soon. So the girls decided to grab a bite at Bugis after work today and get evelyn a little gift (without her knowing of course!) since she was leaving next week.



Getting a gift for her without her knowledge turned out to be near impossible! This girl was just so tough to lie to! Or maybe we were just pretty bad at lying. Venne finally managed to pull off the perfect lie and we were left to get her a little customized something!

Eve we will so miss your noise at work!




23 NOVEMBER 2007; FRIDAY

My dept had a super early Christmas party- almost a whole month! Apparently, the place was fully booked in December so we had ours a little early in November! Initially we were all pretty unsure about attending but seeing as we barely had a choice (our names were already included in the list as "attending"), we decided to make the most of it. And we did! Imagine drinks on the house all the way til 10.30pm! Boy did we have some crazy fun!




I had such an incredible time that night! I can't believe I didn't get a hangover the next day. Ha. Alright, I gotta rush now. More updates soon! :)

I know its been ages since I last updated. Well, whenever a life changes it brings on new challenges and adapting to these takes time. Which is why I've not had the atime to update since I started work (and because I'm out whenever I'm free, ha). Honestly, after I'd seen my workplace, I'd expected work to be scary and depressing but in fact it turned out to be pretty much the opposite! The first day of work I lounched with Eve and Nat and we clicked instantly! It didn't take me long to make new friends and my colleagues are all incredible and fun!

Life has been very good to me. Even though work takes up most of my time, I get to meetup with my old friends every other night! Its December and I absolutely love it! With Christmas parties and meetup with old friends to look forward to every week, I gotta say, this point in my life is looking pretty darn good. :)

Because I've been so tied up with meetups and staying out late, we decided to have a sleepover at Krystle's- a girls night in!


After painting our nails, I received a call from Ben- he managed to book out tonight! So our sleepover was postponed and he picked me up and we set off to Sentosa!




08 NOVEMBER 2007; THURSDAY

Ben's dad turned 53 today!


After lunch we walked around John Little before heading to Jack's Place a little cake-cutting seesion.




10 NOVEMBER 2007; SATURDAY

Ever so quickly, a year has passed. Time flies when you're having fun.



Thank you for everything, for making the past year such an incredible one for me- every single date is a sweet memory embedded like a gem in my mind. I am the luckiest girl in the world. :)




17-18 NOVEMBER 2007; SATURDAY/SUNDAY

Every weekend is lined with activities, and this week was no exception. A spur of the moment decision, but we decided to go with the flow. I have no idea why I suggested camping but I'm glad I did, it was fun!


When we reached East Coast, it was packed! The beach was littered with tents! As far as my eye could see, there were tents everywhere. It was like a small fishing village in itself! People were practically living there. Hammocks hung from trees and clothes were pegged to clothes lines that hung from between tents.




20 NOVEMBER 2007; TUESDAY

Being the sweetheart she is, Krys picked me up from work (so I didn't have to wait for the shuttle; its always crowded) and we headed to town to do some Christmas shopping for the boyfriend.


After we emerged from Taka, there was a light drizzle which turned into a sudden downpour. After 15mins when it didn't stop nor showed any signs of lightening, we dashed across the road to Paragon. I've always loved splashing in rainwater puddles and running in the rain was kinda fun, it reminded me of my childhood days.


Thanks for the great night out babe! I'm so sorry your antenna snapped, hope you didn't get into trouble. You gotta admit it was kinda funny. Ha. ;) See you soon!

Because I am starting work tomorrow (which means less time for blogging), here's another update before I get suffocated by work. There's a whole load of photos in this one. Enjoy! :)


18 OCTOBER 2007; THURSDAY

Ben and I recently found this stall at Bugis Junction that makes customized badges, and all at a reasonable price too! I found the small ones to be much nicer than the larger ones so I decided to customize some for Ben. We'd initially wanted to customize one on the spot but we were rushing for time and we didn't have the photos with us so today I went with Grace to get it done and surprise him!


Ben pinned 2 of the badges on his trucker and I think it looks really good! Unique. Maybe I'll customize somemore for my friends. As a brighten-your-day gift.




20 OCTOBER 2007; SATURDAY

Mum's birthday is actually on the 27th but seeing as she's going overseas with dad, we had the celebration today- it was to be a whole day event. It was pretty rushed cuz Ben only gets to book out on saturdays now, instead of fridays. Somewhat around 2 we managed to make it down to Suntec City for lunch.


The menu looked reasonably priced and I was wondering why mum had earlier mentioned that the restaurant, albeit its look, was actually rather pricey. Turns out the prices of our orders were all in the $25-30 range each.


The food was pretty good, a unique blend of turkish spices and grilled beef. The casserole dish was the best, a mixture of potates and mozzarella at its best. Sounds like lagsane but its taste was something new. The turkish spices gave it a unique twist as to its famous Italian counterpart. We also ordered something off the menu, the chef's special (first picture on row 1). Looking uncannily like pizza on pita, it could've easily passed off as Italian. However, one bite makes all the difference. It was goood.

The peynirli was crusty and delicious. I'd be damned if I said it wasn't. Jon took one bite and there barely left anything for the rest of us.

The turkish form of chilli came across as ginko nuts. Looking exactly the same as its China origin, it looked innocent and delicious. So dad popped one inside his mouth (he did not realise that it was turkish chilli) and and spat it out before you could say cheese. He said that it was sour, tasting nothing like chilli. Initially I thought, hey, maybe I should try it too. But I decided to let Jon try first. Judging by his reaction, not only did it look anything like it "tasted nothing like chilli", it must've tasted like chilli padi.

Then again, no surprise there. I've always doubted dad's tastebuds ever since we had this chicken or pork (I can't quite remember) dish in thailand and he said that it tasted quite good and to "pass the duck".


Because Jon was greedy, we ordered another serving of one of the dishes (I'm not sure what it's called, most of them weren't from the menu) and ended up overly bloated rather than just nice. By the time we were done with lunch, it was nearly 4. Not having enough time to head home to change, I ended up having to make with wearing a blouse to a fish farm. (I'd wanted to change into my beer chang singlet. Ha!)



Instead of the usual fish farm, we were visiting 3 farms today, 2 of which were Malcolm's and the other, Jenny's.



It was incredible, being able to simply sit there and take in all that majestic serenity. Add in the boyfriend's arm around my waist and it was simply romantic. :)



We had pretty bad timing, we arrived just as it was time to wash the nets and feed the fish. Having to clean out the nets, separate the fish and weigh out those for sale at night; today was a busy day for them.



I love the fish farm visits. Apart from my obvious love for the fresh seafood, the views are spectacular, and the whole aspect of an above-the-seas concept (this is so serenity spa. ha!) really does induce peace of mind. Its no wonder people go to the beach to let out their frustration and forget their troubles. This was so much better. :)




21 OCTOBER 2007; SUNDAY

1st breakfast - 6am: fish maw soup with enoki mushroom
2nd breakfast - 9am: 4 hashbrowns
3rd breakfast - 11am: fried bee hoon

No wonder I'm putting on weight. 2kg in fact. Ha.



I absolutely love the hashbrowns at Macs. While other kids love happy meals that comes with the free toy (I suspect its more of the toy then the meal), I'd be snapping up hashbrowns like there was no tomorrow. Ben got pancakes and I had 4 hashbrowns. Ha. Because we were running late for church, Ben ate in the backseat (I think he didn't want to share) .



Okay I know I should be on a shopping ban, but in all honesty I hadn't exactly implemented it right. Right? Despite all my shopping, Ben inisisted on getting me this dress for my first day of work. And shoes. Ha.




23 OCTOBER 2007; TUESDAY

Today was a total back-to-back-date day. Met up with the Cecilia and Eve for lunch at The White Rabbit. Prolly ate too much, again. Rushed down to meet Brenda at Vivo for dress shopping. Caught The Nanny Diaries before Krys picked me up and we headed to town for dinner.



Despite having her driving license (for what, 2 years?), she couldn't find her way to town from Vivo and we found ourselves smacked in the heart of Little India.


I'm really gonna miss days like this soon as work starts.




26 OCTOBER 2007; FRIDAY

Almost a week since I last saw her, she surprised me by looking all auntie today. And because we hadn't screamed at each other/pulled her hair/wailed and brawled, today was more crazy than the usual. I swear this girl gives me the stiches.



I don't think shopping bans work for me. I bought another 2 dresses (excluding the one from m)phosis) and I'm eyeing another at River Island. OMG.




27 OCTOBER 2007; SATURDAY

Saturdays just can't come quickly enough and they pass in a blink of an eye. It's my 3rd time this week at Vivo, but there was nothing in town to do/buy/see so we headed off to Vivo, bought half a dozen of Dippin Donuts and piled up on sweets and chocolates at Candy Empire before dinner at The Orange Lantern; it's becoming a regular visit for us these days.





28 OCTOBER 2007; SUNDAY

Despite the stash of sweets and chocolates we got from Candy Empire yesterday, Ben drove all the way down to Jelita to get me my favourite chocolates. Just because he knew I was craving them all week. Am I lucky or what? :)




29 OCTOBER 2007; MONDAY

It was time to pack my shoes again. This time the location was the ones in the hallway. Look what I found!



Most of my shoes had no boxes (cuz I simply had no space for them) so getting rid of shoes was a problem too. I had to squeeze 2-3 pairs into the bigger boxes. At least I cleared another stack. 2 down, 1 more to go. Ulgh.

Although it's the hols, I haven't had much time to blog reason being I'm out all too often, shopping more than I should be, and busying myself packing and clearing my wardrobe and shoes. What started out as an overflowing wardrobe has evolved into a very neat and tidy one. Which means more room for new clothes! :)

It's been eons since I've lifted a book and recently after reading my shopaholic series again, I'm struck by how much I miss reading these bimbotic books that just make you forget all about your worries and simply, have a good laugh. I've just got to get some time on my hands to head down to Borders and get the reads I've been meaning to get, but have not as I'm pretty well spent this month. Guess I'll just have to wait till next month then. Damn.

03 OCTOBER 2007; WEDNESDAY

Back to the wardrobe.

While packing and clearing my wardrobe:
1) I found 3 new dresses with the tags intact: Topshop, Zara and m)phosis.
2) I realised there was simply no way I could fit all my shoes even after giving away 15 pairs.
3) I realised there was no way I could fit all my clothes back in.
4) I need a triple-tiered shoe rack. Make that 3. It should be sufficient. I think.

I met Brenda and we did a little window shopping at IKEA. Until I have transport, there's no way I can manage 3 shoe racks home by myself.


IKEA always makes my day. It just gets my creative juices flowing. Most of the time I end up buying more than I need, some of what I may not even need. Not today. Today, I was on a tight schedule. I found the shoe racks I needed. Now all I need to do is pack my shoes.

Easier said than done. I must say I'm not exactly looking forward to packing my shoes.




03 OCTOBER 2007; WEDNESDAY

Another get together with Krystle. I've been having much food cravings recently, I couldn't quite decide on what to eat. We were deciding between Japanese or Thai, yet somehow landed ourselves at NYDC; a cross between western and italian.


The usual after-dinner itinerary consistents of drinks at Wala, but this time round Krys said we should try having drinks a la kopitiam, at least once in our life.

So we did.


Much was shared tonight, and I wonder if it's the alcohol working it's magic. u know what I'm talking about babe. ;)




07 OCTOBER 2007; SUNDAY

Despite having barely enough sleep and having to wake up at an unusual ungodly hour, I awoke with a smile of my face soon as the alarm went off. Today was OCS Open House. Which means 2 weeks into Ben's 3 weeks confinement I'll finally get to see him! :)



About 2hrs later we arrived at SAFTI MI. Most of the families and friends brought lunch for the cadets; KFC and Macs were a top fav, some even bought pizza! We saw one family eating cài fàn. Abit sad la.



We slacked at the officer cadets mass until his folks left for the orientaion talk, and then slacked some more in his bunk. 7 more days till book out, I so can't wait.




09 OCTOBER 2007; TUESDAY

Since Eve and I left BNP, Cecilia's been pretty much loaded with work. Which basically means she barely has time to have a proper social life. Poor girl. After an interview today, we met up for lunch! Too bad Eve couldn't join us.



She finally doesn't have to rush back to work after lunch. First time since never. So we chat and catch up for awhile, since I was so full I didn't want to get up and walk. Ha. And after lunch was my shopping date with Jeanette!

I arrived home with so more bags that I could handle. Let's see:

Planned shopping list:

- shoes
- stockings

Actual shopping:
- 2 tops
- 2 dresses
- a bag
- 3 pairs of earrings
- a belt
- a pair of shoes
- stockings

Might be a good time to start a strict regime for my expenses. A shopping ban maybe?

10 OCTOBER 2007; WEDNESDAY

The initial plan to snuggle up on the couch with a tub of Ben and Jerry's and Grey's Anatomy was abandoned and it was dinner at Holland with Krys. I've had better days, today just wasn't one of them. It's hard to find people who are actually able to separate work and friendship. I'm really disappointed.



I would've preferred a martini or cosmo after dinner but I doubt my stomach would've settled with that (especially with what we had for dinner). Since Krys has never been to Cold Rock, tonight was her first try.


Thanks for everything babe, I feel so much better now. :)




12 OCTOBER 2007; FRIDAY

The 3-week confinement period is OVER!! I cannot be happier now, I really can't. :)



As usual, we fell asleep in the midst of watching a movie. Come to think of it, I can't even remember the title. Oh wait, there it is. Because I said so.

By the time we got up it was way past noon, so we grabbed some lunch and off we headed to Bugis.


I really had no intention to shop but somehow I arrived home with another 2 tops. Well, as the saying goes, there's no such thing as too many clothes is there? ;)

Sunday is family day. Church, breakfast, bible study, lunch, grocery shopping and then home sweet home.






17 OCTOBER 2007; WEDNESDAY

With all the free time in the world to do absolutely just about anything I wanted, Bren and I decided today was a good weather to tan. Thank God it didn't rain today, as did the past few weeks; on and off, as and when it pleases.


Dinner at the Orange Lantern, better than Pho Hoa. Squeezed in a little window shopping at Topshop and I popped out with these.


I can't seem to get enough of shoes and lingerie. They're like my staple shopping diet.
